Now you'll need your Fray Check, needle, straight pin, new hair, kleenex, and scissors.
Ok, here's where we get into terms. What you buy is a hank of hair. The little bunch of hair
you put in the hole is called a plug of hair. When I root hair I take a small pile of hair from the hank and pinch it in the
fingers of my left hand. Then I do my best to get all the strands even at both ends. They do'nt all have to be even but the
closer the better. Then, I separate a few strands of hair with my right hand. Say between 12 and 20 strands. Figure a
plug a little smaller than the holes in the donor head. I wet them with my fingers then lay them down on my paper towel. When
I have between 12 and 16 plugs I start pulling them into the donor head.
Once I have a nice line of plugs made I pick the first one up, wet it with my fingers and
cut off about 1/8th of an inch of one end to get it good and straight. This will be the end I thread through the eye
of my needle.
Now I'll take my needle and put it into one of the holes on the donor
head. If you're working with a fresh head you'll need to map out a hair line.
