Joe is the guy that started the whole thing. He is the first action figure I ever got.
The story goes like this. My uncle Ken was a door gunner in Vietnam. While on leave in Tokyo he bought
me a G.I.Joe from the P.X. and shipped it home to me for Christmas. That was 1968, I was five years old.
Some time in the 70's poor Joe got in the middle of a fight between my half brother and I. He lost
both his arms in that battle. He stayed like that for many years till sometime in the late 80's a company called Cotswold
came around . I found out I could order new cord to put poor Joe's arms back on. He had been stored in a box for over ten
years.
Then sometime in the late 90's I started to notice his knees did'nt stay on anymore. They were cracked
and the pegs were worn out. So I went back to good old Cotswold and got him a new body.
Now a couple of months ago I noticed Joe was looking his age. I guess we both are. Alot of his
hair paint was missing. His scar was almost gone and his eye brows were all but gone. So I asked my loving wife that does
such beatiful work with our Cybitsu's and other figures to give him a new face. A new look that shows his age but not the
wear and tear. Here are some before and after pictures.
